Charter Oak State College is a distance learning college established in 1973 to assist adult learners in completing their college degrees. Today they are proud to offer "Degrees Without Boundaries" by utilizing more than 180 online courses. At the College, students can choose to pursue a Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or certification in a wide variety of programs of study without ever physically stepping into a classroom. A personal Academic Counselor will help students customize a degree based on the student’s educational background and goals.

Students from all 50 states and 9 different countries are enrolled with the College. Additionally, 45% of Charter Oak graduates report professional advancement as a result of their Charter Oak degree and 48% of our recent graduates have gone on to pursue an advanced degree. Charter Oak is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Connecticut State Board for Higher Education.

Charter Oak State College will award credit for College Algebra, English Composition I, Accounting I, and Economics I. To receive credit, a student must apply for admission to Charter Oak State College and will be required to submit the standard application fee at the time of application.
