Types of Undergraduate Nursing Degree Programs
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Programs: Associate of nursing degree (ADN) programs are generally completed in two-year programs by full-time students. ADN programs are concentrated and cover a lot of material. Many nursing students find it helpful to complete their required general education courses prior to starting their nursing courses - in order to maintain focus on their nursing courses, increase success, and reduce the cost of their degree. LPN to ADN Programs: An LPN to ADN program enables licensed practical nurses to earn their ADN credential. Bachelor’s of Science (BSN): A BSN program is a 4-year degree that includes both required general education courses or prerequisites, and nursing courses, including clinical components. Nearly 80% of employers now require, or express a strong preference, for nurses with a bachelor’s degree. RN-BSN Completion Program: Already have an RN license? RN-BSN completion programs are designed to meet the educational needs of registered nurses looking to earn their bachelor’s degree. Some schools offer accelerated options (12 months), or programs that can be flexibly spread out over a longer time frame. Want to see how it works? Take two free lessons on us today!
