StraighterLine now offers 60 low-cost general education courses
StraighterLine today announced the launch of two new online college courses, bringing the total number of offerings to sixty. Like all StraighterLine courses, these have received credit recommendation from the American Council on Education (ACE).
The new courses are IT Fundamentals and Survey of World History. These new 3-credit courses expand the Technology and Humanities offerings available through the low-cost online college course provider. With the addition of these two new courses, StraighterLine now provides sixty self-paced courses available immediately to students looking to complete their general education credits online. Each course is available for purchase with a $99 StraighterLine monthly membership and can be started the same day a student enrolls.
"Students can transfer low-cost college credits earned from StraighterLine to their degree program," says Burck Smith, StraighterLine CEO and Founder, "and students can also earn tuition discounts at willing colleges through StraighterLine's Scholarship program – saving up to 60% on the cost of their degree. Our partner colleges love it because these transferring students are more likely to persist to a degree than the rest of their students."
Course credits transfer to accredited partner colleges in StraighterLine’s network of nearly 100 partner colleges and universities. They are also considered by more than 2,000 other colleges and universities for transfer to their degree programs through ACE CREDIT.
StraighterLine’s courses have been found to offer equal academic rigor but with more affordability, convenience and student satisfaction. Students earn real college credit and see StraighterLine courses help them complete a degree.
